Mavin Records new young artist Rema has recently come under fire for insisting that Wizkid and some of his other colleagues might sound like him.

The young artist whose music is relatively new to the Nigerian scene made the statement in an interview, stating that he doesn't sound like Wizkid, rather it is the Starboy who sounds like him. This is coming after there has been wide spread commentary that the rookie sounds a lot like Wizkid.

When asked about being compared to Wizkid, Reekado Banks and Skiibii, he said "I don't sound like anyone actually, they might sound like me but I don't sound like anyone."

Since Rema's bold statement hit social media, people have had mixed feelings about his claim with some encouraging him for being confident enough to make such a remark and others condemning his statement as unwarranted pride.

It is no news that the new Mavin signee, Rema has been the buzz of late. The singer who was signed to Mavin Records two weeks ago kicked off his career with the hit track “Dumebi“. However, many believe that the singer sounds like Wizkid, Skiibii and Reekado Banks as the track “Dumebi’ definitely gives a Wizkid, Skiibii and Reekado Banks kind of vibe.

In a recent interview, he came forward to brush off the notion saying he sounds like them. He says that he doesn’t sound like anyone and that they may sound like him.

Ever since street music star, Oluwafemi Oladapo Oko-Eko, popularly known as Slimcase shot to limelight after a decade of pursuing his passion for music, he made it clear in an interview that he’s just an hype man and many people misjudged him for an alcoholic and drug addict, but surprisingly, such is hardly the case with the energetic entertainer.

In a chat, Slimcase whose latest hit, ‘Azaman’ featuring 2Baba, Perruzzi, Larry Gaaga and DJ Neptune currently tops music charts across the nation, told Showtime that contrary to popular belief, he doesn’t drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, Indian hemp (Cannabis) or do drugs.

“I don’t smoke, drink alcohol or do drugs I am only a good actor”, he asserted. However, he stated that though he doesn’t take alcohol, it is not a sin. “Taking alcohol is not a sin, but drinking to stupor is a sin.” Speaking further, he reacted to criticisms that he is yet to prove himself a musician worthy of note.
“I am not a musician, I am an industry hype man with music in his hands; the first of its kind. The first street artiste Wizkid featured and that’s my pride, my Grammy. I’m an entertainer who can entertain you even without music. I am the first industry hype man with blown songs”, he said.

The singer who struggled to gain recognition on the music scene for a decade recounted how he was tempted to quit music when he wasn’t getting the desired results.

Wizkid has joined other celebrities to speak up against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, (SARS), after their operatives killed a young man, Johnson Kolade ,yesterday in Lagos.

On sunday, there was a shocking report of youth along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on rampage, setting fire all around the highways over yet another of the several killings that have happened since the elections: officers of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) shot dead an alleged “Yahoo boy”.
Wizkid took to Instagram to involve himself in the trendinghashtag because calling for an end to the operations of the Special Anti-Robbery Sqaud across the nation.

The tragic event triggered anger among Nigerian youth, with everybody is starting the speak up against the killings, including the popular celebrities.

Singer Burna Boy has joined other celebrities to speak up against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, (SARS), after their operatives killed a young man, Johnson Kolade ,yesterday in Lagos.

According to Burna, until we are ready to fight SARS and the powers that be, nobody should include him in the hashtag because we are all ‘pu**ys’.

The trending controversial song by Kizz Daniel titled "Fvck You" has officially premiered.

Produced by serial hit-producer Young John, the provocative song is Daniel's latest offering since the release of his acclaimed sophomore album "No Bad Songz."

 

Although rumoured to be a diss song; "Fvck You" is a heartbreak number which sees Vado lament on the promiscuous ways of his light-skinned lover.

Daniel suggests that his lover has been sleeping with his colleagues, listing names ranging from Wizkid, Tekno to Don Jazzy.

But what what caught our attention was the mention of big names... such as;

Pedro (fvck you), Tekno (fvck you), Aboki (fvck you), Wizzy (fvck you), Don baba Jay (fvck you)

Jargo (fvck you), Aremu (fvck you), Mr Mulla (fvck you)

With bridges like;

"Slay mama no be big girl, one man for a woman, but for your matter i be number 11"

The singer so far had been rumoured to be in secrete relationship with Nigerian pop sensation, Chidinma.

Both artistes caused a stir sometime in March 2018 after a picture of Chidinma in a bedroom with Kiss Daniel was shared by the latter.

They even got a matching tattoo at the time.

During that time, Chidinma dished to her friends a relationship advise, saying: "if I must brush before kissing you in the morning, we are not meant for each other".

In another viral post, she served yet another dish of advice and had got people wandering if all was well with her relationship with Kizz Daniel.

She wrote;

"Please if you are dating a fine person and you love your health, please I beg you in the name of Jesus Christ that said, "it is finished" on the cross, don't go through their phone(s).

Chidinma, in an interview with Punch declined to speak on her rumoured relationship with Kizz adding that fans and Nigerians will know the truth overtime.

"I don't like to speak about my relationship or love life in public. There is nothing to talk about me and Kiss Daniel; people can say anything they want to say. Whether I am in a relationship with him or not, everyone will get to know later.

"I find it weird that I am always linked to one musician or the other. At times, it takes extra effort for me to convince people that certain reports about me are untrue."
